#76. Internet Marketing Tip: You need to know which keywords are driving traffic to your website.
Knowing which keywords are working and which are not is an important part of promoting your business online.
Keywords used in your content and at your social networking sites will either drive traffic to your doorstep, or not. It is important to make sure that your optimization efforts are working as intended.
If internet marketing is your goal, sign up for Google Analytics. Important Tip; You can access this site easily with your gmail UserName and Password. Once you have done that you need to grab the analytics code and apply it to your website.

#77. Internet Marketing Tip; Set up a Keyword Analysis Report
As part of your monthly marketing report make a point to monitor your keyword analysis at Google Analytics. The question you should ask – Is the right keyword pointing to the right page? For the purpose of this article we are going to concentrate on the first two tabs; Targeting & Engagement

The Targeting tab breaks things down for you by placing the title and keyword side-by-side. The four metrics you can monitor here are:
- Unique Visitors
- Goal Completions
- Goal Conversion Rate
- Avg. Page Load Time (sec)
NOTE: Of course you will have to go into the program and set up goals in order to see accurate data.
The Engagement tab gives you not only the unique statistics for each page title and keyword, but also gives a graph and the average number of:
- Unique Pageviews
- Pages/Visit
- Avg. Time on Page
- Bounce Rate
- Percentage Exit
- Goal Conversion Rate
NOTE: With regards to the Revenue tab, we will be spending some time on this tab at a later date.
